My first couple weeks of unemployment

Here is what I've been doing since my last substantial post:

I spent from April 26 to May 10 mostly trying to get my last project done. Many people encouraged me not to do this. They pointed out that essentially I'd been fired and I owed the company nothing. I couldn't really disagree with that but I also had things that I personally wanted to accomplish for my own reasons. So I continued to try to finish things off including coming in on weekend. Part of me thinks that was dumb but part of me wishes I'd gotten even more done.

Then, I had a few days where I did something every day to find a new job, before taking off for an already planned and mostly paid for trip to Vegas. That trip was very interesting in many ways and I'll probably post separately about it.

I'm in a funk

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It's not easy being laid off even if you know it's going to be better in the long run. But almost an entire month has gone by and I haven't written a single blog post. It's not like I haven't been doing anything either. I've done two triathlons, finished my last two weeks of work, consulted with a lawyer, drove to Las Vegas and back for a WLS convention and looked for a new job.

So I have plenty to talk about.
