2009 Goals

I am not a big believer in New Year's Resolutions. In fact, back in Jan. of 1984 I made a New Year's resolution not to make any more New Year's resolutions. I managed to keep it, too, for a long time. But these past few years, it's been harder. This year, since I'm constantly re-evaluating where I'm at, it was particularly hard not to make any. I did update my running list of goals that I set at the beginning of deciding to get Weight Loss Surgery.

But they are not, I repeat, not New Year's Resolutions! (Yeah, I don't know who I'm fooling either.)

  1. To give my inner "skinny bitch" a body that matches, just like she deserves.
  2. To live into my 90s as one of those cantakerous little old ladies with 10x as much energy as the youngsters I run circles around
  3. To get off my BP meds (completed)
  4. To go swimming with my daughter and stop making excuses every time she asks because I don't want to deal with appearing in a bathing suit in public (I've done it once, but it's winter. Let's see what happens when summer comes.)
  5. To start ballroom dancing, get a partner and compete on the amateur circuit To complete a Sprint Triathlon
  6. To get rid of my plantar fasciitis once and for all (looking good, but won't know for sure until I stop using the inserts)
  7. To be at least a size 10, maybe smaller, and to shop in regular stores and not just the fat old lady department at Macys (second half has happened, still working on the first half)
  8. To get rid of my GERD (completed)
  9. To get down to 175 (completed)
  10. To no longer be clinically obese (oh so close)
  11. To get down to 155
  12. To get down to 1350 (possible goal weight?)
  13. To walk 10,000 steps a day at least 4 days a week (completed)
